Barron Winter Styled Shoot

As some of you may know, I used to work in the wedding industry and so I am happy to share shoots from my furniture rental/styling days – especially shots that are powerful with color and new ideas/design. I was part of a shoot featuring a very rare and different black wedding gown which was so fun and unique to work with. Unfortunately, for the bridal market, this concept was not as well received but I love that the vendors took such a leap of faith in creating something outside of the box. Plus, it turned into a tiny bit of Gypsy inspiration for me.

I used some white milk glass vessels for props and gold leaf candlesticks from Anthropologie. Since the main focus of this was the dark black, we opted for gold and neutrals for accent pieces since the florist provided bright red colors for the flowers. I also love the black grapes and figs I found as this was shot in the Fall and reflected that time of year to a tee.

My Victorian velvet lush pink chair made its way into this field for the shoot – you can’t see it too well here but it was a fun backdrop and added a little vibe.

Hauling furniture around out in wide, open spaces is no easy task. Let me tell you. I only wish I could show you more so how much goes into each and every shot you see. I can tell you that all the vendors who work shoots are traditionally covered in sweat, dirt, bug bites (if the right time of year or right time of day), are starving and generally physically exhausted! Hauling, moving, crouching, leaning, holding…you name it we are all doing our parts to get that one right moment on camera.
