Opalhouse by Target: Food For My Soul

Dear Target. I love you. Who doesn’t? I mean, its a one stop shop and the price point can’t be beat. Am I the only person who loves going weekly to see what is new in the housewares section? I would love the challenge of designing a home, top to bottom, using Target only products. VIOLA.

The new line from Opalhouse is entirely, 100% my design soul and aesthetic. Is is as if someone looked into the window of my brain and saw what I imagine in my head all the time and brought it to life. Thank you, whoever you are. I cannot get enough of this line. The colors and textures are so rich and gypsy-like that it speaks to my heart.

Even if you aren’t a color person you can appreciate that they are using color in such a constructed and beautifully eclectic manner here. It is so well composed that even the white bathroom with touches of oranges look chic. For a new client project I’m working on in San Francisco, my client chose the cream Moroccan Wedding Quilt for the Guest Suite we are putting together, and it is stunning. Such a great mix of neutrals, some sequin details, and all around super soft – who would have guessed that this bedding line was so luxurious at such a fantastic price point?

Similarly, my own home last summer took on some of this Opalhouse design flare in its very own way…still a work in progress but since summer is here, I’ve pulled it all out again for the Living Room design.

This entire room is currently being changed out but I still love looking at the contract of colors, dark navy wall (I went for it and took a risk!) and the orange fusion pillows.
