Soft Palette Inspiration – Dining Rooms & Space Ideas

I’m slowly falling into Spring and Summer as the tides are changing and wanted to post some images that are beach inspired from a staged shoot I worked on that incorporated an outdoor dining room (or space) if you will. I love the soft palette that we developed here, back in my wedding staging days, and I still have those rattan peacock chairs at my house. I debate painting them all the time but they are in such stellar condition, I dare not. And the best part, I found them off Offer Up for only $50 for both. The lady that owned them simply had to move in a moments notice and just had to get rid of things, which worked very well for me, as she could have charged quite a bit more. Look high, look low, look everywhere…you can find hidden treasures lurking in the most unimaginable places.

Our model was very young, aren’t they all, and nearly froze to death but we make the sacrifice for art! I hauled out all the furniture, accessories, etc. and carried them down the ocean cliff side with the other fury of women that worked on this shoot, and collectively, we brought it all together. Working in the wedding industry, or staging for that matter, is not for the faint of heart. What goes into each photo you see is hours of sweat, labor, and hard work to get that one perfect shot.

I’ve long been obsessed with tapered candles and holders. I wanted them at my wedding but they were not allowed at venues for the obvious reasons but wouldn’t it be gorgeous to see a plethora of tall tapers lite up down long tables? My vision was crushed, so I used giant floating candles instead, and ironically a guest knocked one over and still lite the table on fire at one point. So much for that theory that only tapers cause fires. Ha!

I mean, those florals were outrageous. I couldn’t dream up a more perfect beach floral design.
