Weekend Lists & Duties: Cabana de Rosa

Where is time going? Anymore I feel like it is me chasing it. So many projects, so many to-do’s, so many “I wish I had more time to…” moments. Full time work and mommy hood are enough to make me start naming the bags under my eyes, but no, I will prevail forward. My weekends are much more manageable and productive if I have lists, being a Type A, so I also make a list for each new week and weekend to power through.

On the list this weekend at Cabana de Rosa is deciding what to do with my half-quasi palm print oasis master bedroom that started last July and never was finished. Holidays arrived and my life imploded! I also have now decided that my original inclination to move the palm leaf drapes (my number #1 2016 design obsession) I had made custom into the dining room is better suited, so I want to change the entire concept. List Item#1.

The Mr. is gonna kill me! More re-painting in the future…

Back to the paint palette and inspiration board I go. I know I still want a semi-beach meets Golden Girls vibe in the room (shell fan lamps excluded) but with a grown up twist. I painted out a navy wall, which was super bold and fun, but am over it now so away it will go. I have a love hate with accent walls but since the house is so old and has stucco walls, I thought it would make it interesting, as you can’t wallpaper. So, I’m going to try to find my inspiration for redesign in this room.

List Item #2: As “Casa de Rosa” was born last year (see before and after above), and I want my expensive little investment to survive, gardening is on the menu. I love to garden! Digging in that dirt, making something look like it got a haircut, and fine tuning all the beauty of a plant gives me joy. Clipping, spraying, fertilization, and maintaining these beauties so in a few weeks they blow up the side of my house in a way that even has the Easter Bunny happy to come over!

List Item #3: I must cook for the week ahead. Always a challenge with a 4 year old running around but if I don’t meal prep ahead of time my weeks are a disaster and frozen entrees or takeout are my life. With work, school, commute, gym, etc. all week long it leaves ten minutes to throw something to eat at night or take for lunch.

Let’s see how much I can get done…
