In my world, there is nothing – and I mean nothing – better than a good flea market find, or as I say, a Winnebago find or a little DIY. In resurrecting this bedroom from its own empty, beige wall drowning death, I’ve been hunting for a long time to find the perfect wall statement pieces. Is it me or is it truly disheartening to see what is available in commercial markets as “art”. 99% of it is just terrible to pick from, mass produced, and stuck in the 90’s. And, if you’re anything like me, you aren’t willing to shell out thousands for artwork so it can be really challenging to find something modern and eclectic on a beer budget to fill that wall space. Look no further…a HomeGoods find for you folks:
As with packing groceries, I have serious issues with what is out there for consumers to buy and put on their walls. I came across this abstract piece randomly, after combing stores for months, for a mere $60. I loved the navy indigo and peach/pink combinations of color and while it picked up on my indigo accent wall it was light enough to darken the small space even more. For $40 dollars AND framed in a wood – not cheap plastic or badly wrapped canvas. A Win, win! So don’t give up, keep searching and digging for all your pieces as well as don’t discriminate….try looking at Target, HomeGoods, etc. as well as your higher end stores.
Be bold, take a risk, and play with colors or patterns that are new to you. You never know where a treasure might pop up or where a new style of treasure might take your space design!
